There is a spring that connects the rod to the parking brake plate. You rotate the rod 180 degrees to engage or disengage the parking brake. One way pulls the plate up via the spring and holds it there over center. The other way lets the plate fall and engage the teeth on the brake pedals.

The part number for the spring is 10A5816. As of last year it was still available from AGCO at a reasonable price.

It is good that you gave a report that you got your problem solved. So maney times many people try to help someone, give of their knowledge and experiences, and there is no respons from the one asking for help. It is good to know you got your problem fixed.
